MAHUBE-OTWA is actively recruiting a Head Start Site Coordinator. We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to coordinate and supervise the delivery of educational and/or family support services provided in Head Start (HS) /Early Head Start (EHS) centers.
Coordinates and supervises assigned Head Start services to ensure quality education, health, nutrition, and family support for enrolled children and families. Ensures compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards, applicable Minnesota DCYF licensing requirements, CACFP requirements, and agency policies while supporting the Whole Family Approach.
Pay: $28.39 - $29.91
Schedule: Non-Exempt, Day Shift, Monday – Friday, 40 hours/week, full time, year-round with 2 one-week layoffs, and reduced summer hours for two months at 32 hours
Remote Work: Possible One Day Per Week Remote, may travel within our 5-county area (Mahnomen, Hubbard, Becker, Otter Tail, and Wadena)

Minimum education and credential requirements depend on the employee’s assigned program option and classroom age group. Employees must meet all applicable Head Start Program Performance Standards, Minnesota DCYF licensing requirements, and MAHUBE-OTWA requirements.
Center-Based Coordinator – Head Start Preschool or Early Head Start Infant/Toddler: Associate degree or higher in
Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
Family Child Care Coordinator: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a
related field.
- Grade Level Based on Education/Credentials:
Grade 13: Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or another qualifying related field.
Grade 14: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or another qualifying related field.
- Five years of experience delivering comprehensive services to children from birth through age five and their families, including planning, organizing, and supervisory skills, or a demonstrated ability to fulfill the job responsibilities.
- Knowledge of health, nutrition, family systems, early childhood development, and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Must be able to make decisions relating to program operations.
- Ability to develop an effective working relationship with partners.
- Must possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills and demonstrate resourcefulness, flexibility, adaptability, and commitment.
- Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Must be able to train parents and staff with the ability to express and exchange ideas and provide instructions to clients, the public, or other employees.
- Must be able and willing to make home visits.
- First Aid and CPR certification required.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, a good driving record, and a willingness to use a personal vehicle in the course of employment.
- Must successfully complete all background studies and checks required by Minnesota law and federal Head Start standards.
- Maintain a positive attitude, exhibit professionalism and respect in working and communicating with Head Start staff, families, children, and community partners. Work to develop a positive team approach to meeting the needs of children and families.
